Haa. So, so much Batman/Joker slash, and it didn't make me ill. (I liked this version of Joker, design and personality, if only because the starkness of it reminded me that "YES- there ARE/WERE/WILL BE other ways to depict this character than how Heath Ledger did it.") Sheesh @ the world.
Hee. Very true. Some have been better than others. (I mean, what the hell?) But there's lots of ways to depict him.
papajoemambo actually tells me Joker being gay for Batman is sort of an internal editorial guideline at DC. Yet they still deny any Robin subtext, which is bizarre. (And may say disturbing things about homosexuality being more acceptable in a villain than a hero. But of course then they'll just point me to their new, gay Batwoman they don't seem to do anything with.)
It was fourth grade, so perhaps that was the height of my imaginary friend days. I saw a boy with a tiger and, buddy, I was SOLD. ^~
I could see that. I think fourth grade me probably wanted a GIRL with a tiger, though. I was cranky like that. (There's always Princess Jasmine though, I guess.)
Ohhhh, I SURE DO. I remember Sam the troublemaker and... and... I'm pickaxing my brain trying to remember the less afflicted girl. ::always wanted to know how you ended that tale:: ♫
Annie. :-) She had anorexia ... wait, why did I do that? It wasn't on purpose! ... I don't think it was on purpose. Anyway, I had to look it up, too. [laughs] I think I had a reason for not saying her name very much, but I can't remember it now.
There's no direct sequel. The comic is an adaptation. (Although my first attempt at a re-telling, non-comic book, may have expanded things.) It's pretty interesting (to me, anyway) what happened from start to finish of the project.

By the way, I recently found this analysis of Joker, which is very awesome.
