... That was one of my favorite scenes, too. Thinking about how religious people act, though, it makes a lot of sense. New converts always have the sense of awe and wonder OMG THIS IS SO SERIOUS about their religion. Lifers are comfortable making sex jokes about the prophets. (As a lifer who re-discovered her religion in her adolescence, I kind of feel both of those sentiments at different times.)
I liked the scenes of Noriko and Shimako just hanging out as soeurs in the third season. They didn't do much, but I liked kind of trying to get a hint of what that relationship will become. (temperance_doll also asked me to be her beta reader for a Shimako fanfic that dealt with her feelings for Noriko AND Rosa Canina, though, so I've thought about them semi-deeply in the past already.)
I just point to how, under the surface, the serious, moody Sei turned out to be much more childish than the jocular one. (again, contrasts! \o/)
