Holy crap, these questions are hard ...
Rules:
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you 5 questions of a personal nature.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them 5 questions.
imayb1 asked:
1. What are your major life-goals for the next year or two?
In the most general sense, my major life-goals are to sort of set out the path for the rest of my life this year. Or maybe the next ten years. I'd like to start writing more personal things. I'd also like to be exercising and going to the doctor and doing all the things I'm SUPPOSED to be doing and neglected this year. Kind of simple and vague, but they're what I need right now.
Oh, and I want to finish reading the Jewish Bible by the end of 2009, with all of the Prophets being read this year.
2. If you could get all people to understand ONE thing-- one statement or concept-- what would it be?
This is probably where I should say something like "Peace is good" but I fear that would have a large butterfly effect. So I'll settle for "Minority activism does not mean hatred of the majority." I think that's pretty simple.
3. Would you like to become famous? If so, for what?
Yeah, I kind of would. But author-famous, not actor-famous. I'd like to get fanmail but still be able to go shopping relatively unnoticed. I still have the "critically-acclaimed author" dream.
4. If you could list one book as mandatory reading for all high school graduates, which would you choose?
My future book aimed at getting teenagers to read books! Seriously, I've actually written the introduction to this. Hey, we're talking fantasy, right?
Less big-headed answer ... hmmm ... I'm going to go with Public Opinion by Walter Lippmann. I think it would give our media-saturated society a bit of a reality check and help the new generations. Plus, I had trouble understanding it when I read it as an undergrad, so maybe a teacher can help them out. :-)
5. If you could trade lives (Freaky Friday style) with a superhero (or supervillian), would you? If so, who would you choose?
Freaky Friday means just for a day, right? She's not my favorite, but I got to go with Wonder Woman. I think after you're Wonder Woman for a day, you can get the confidence to do anything. Plus, then I'd be able to fly!

Interview me.

2.) You get one weekend to be transported back to the 1920s and get to meet some of your favorite celebrities from the time period. Who do you meet and what do you do?
3.) What do you think are the principles of good comic book work (in any genre)?
4.) What do you wish Americans knew about Canada?
5.) Who is the nicest celeb you've ever met? What was it like meeting him/her?
no subject
I like that. :) Although, one would assume "the majority" don't like being called that since it gives them the stigma of being oppressors. :\ For example, now with California's legalized gay marriage, church groups insist they're being persecuted by the State by having to oversee these ceremonies.
Everyone wants the underdog status, at least until they really ARE the underdogs. :P
I'd like to read your someday-book~!

Did you want to be interviewed?

My brain has been refried mush lately, so don't be surprised if I can only answer in obscure designer lingo. ::semi-joking:: °×°
I'll start off with a designer-related question first, then ...
2.) Do you want a family of your own one day? Why or why not?
3.) If you could make one corporation drop off the face of the earth, would you and which one would it be?
4.) Is there anything you miss about the old South Park fanfiction days? Anything you are glad to never see again?
5.) Why is shojo ai so awesome?

I hope you get your author-fame! I'll have to look up Public Opinion.
I like your Wonder Woman answer-- and flying would definitely be cool.

It's kind of lame at my age to admit I want to be famous, but I do ... [sigh]. As for Public Opinion, the version I got is here. It's tough-going and kind of difficult to swallow as he basically calls the American people stupid, but it's also a call to think critically and with complexity on our government and our reality. It's very important and even though he's labeled a conservative I think his criticisms cross political lines -- and should, because he didn't like labels.

There was a copy of Public Opinion on BookMooch and I got excited for a second-- but it was in Singapore. I added it to my wishlist instead.
I was looking over the books I should read next in my to-read pile and I couldn't find anything I wanted to read. I was antsy about the books I'm currently reading and then I realized... they're all non-fantasy. It was driving me crazy. Once I figured out the problem, I picked up a fantasy novel and read over half the book last night. It was like my whole brain settled down and I even slept well! Weird, huh?

If you don't mind E-Books, you could always Just read it for free. (Public domain, yay!) But I prefer the feel of a book in my hand, so don't feel like you have to.

Hee-hee-hee. You're addicted!

Thanks for the link! Free e-books are great!
Yes, I am an addict. Happily, I'm okay with that!
