Oekaki boards are fine, only if you want to trade in quality tools with more immediate social asskiss contact and discourse. :\ (There's also Tegaki-E which is supposedly doing your journal entry as a drawing.)
As far as drawing with the mizouse, I'd say keep that to a minimum. ^~; Carpal-Tunnel is a real issue, and while it might not manifest in your line of work as quickly, it's still best to play it safe. '-';

Most oekaki artists use a digital clipboard kind of device with a 'pen'. Also, most boards have color choices, the undo option and other benefits. :]
