I finished the Beauty Trilogy. It had a few good moments (like the Beauty/Suitor scene), but overall didn't really redeem itself after that horrible FGM scene and I'm not forgiving it.
And because I feel in an Anne Rice bashing mood ... do you all remember that Lestat musical? Maybe you heard of it once and since it had such a short run you forgot about it.
Well, I was reminded, and I went out to search clips. I found this one:

See that? Now, any of you who've READ the book, do you really imagine Claudia singing it? Because I can't.
And you know what? That song is what many critics said was the GOOD one. And ... it is fun in a dorky sort of way. The music is good, even if the lyrics suck. Still ... it's freakin' Claudia. And it's so toe-tapping she might as well be wearing a top hat and cane. DOES NOT COMPUTE!!! DOES NOT COMPUTE!!!
But now I'm going to have that tune in my head all day anyway. ("I want more! I want more! I want moooooooooore!")
