So, um, I really, really liked Black Dossier. I liked it so much I wrote a long letter to Alan Moore, mostly just to get out how much the book meant to me, not really planning to send it.

And then I heard Terry Pratchett has Alzheimer's. I haven't read a lot of Pratchett (3 books, 4 if you count Good Omens ... which really isn't a lot), so for me it's a bummer, but less of a bummer than if I'd loved him and grown up with him as others have. Still, it got me thinking about how our heroes are only alive for so long and ...

Well, now I want to send the letter. Any ideas for how to find an address? I'm thinking of asking through Top Shelf, but if anyone else has any better ideas, I'd appreciate them.

you could try his publisher- either sending it there or asking for a fan mail/contact from them.

Write him c/o the publisher. The publisher's address is usually listed somewhere in the back of the book, or is a matter of public record.

I wouldn't waste your time with DC COMICS

I would say that TOP SHELF, moreso than DC Comics (who collectively seem to treat Mr Moore like unto poo), *is* probably your best bet, especially now that TOP SHELF are also the official publishers of VOICE OF THE FIRE and the other upcoming novel that he is currently working on.

Your letter written and sealed in an envellope, mailed in a larger envellope to the publisher and with a quick cover letter inside explaining the circumstances should take care of it.

From what I understand, Mr Moore is a gracious recipient of any such fanmail.

[and YES - wasn't THE BLACK DOSSIER yummy? I can't wait to hear the 45 RPM single this time next year]
