Nah, they're both much more complex than that ... I'm having trouble figuring out how anything is instigated, though. Reading over the Dan and Laurie scenes, she was the one that started it both times.

Oh, it's not dumb, we all have different interpretations...IMO there's a lot of dynamics at work, if that makes sense.
